South Africa Trip

CURVES fitness centre for women has stepped forward to help two young women from Eastbourne Foyer attain their physical goal in preparation for a 25 day expedition to South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal in May.

A free three month membership has been extended to Valeria Londono, 17, and Kelly Laverick, 18, by Peter and Lina Furminger proprietors of the Cornfield Lane fitness centre for women.

“When we heard that the teenagers will be trekking through rugged Africa bush, hiking up into the Drakensberg Mountains and taking part in extremely tough physical activities we felt it was imperative that we offered them free use of Curves (Eastbourne) fitness circuit. Our personal coaches and fitness trainers will do all they can to encourage Valeria and Kelly to achieve a high standard of fitness for their African adventure in May,” said Peter.

The girls, who will be accompanied by Eastbourne Foyer project worker Suzie Bright, will join up with other young people from the south east on an educational project which offers adventure and self- discovery.

“The trip will be exceptionally physically demanding on us all!” said Suzie, who is already a member of the Cornfield Lane gym. She added, “Eastbourne Foyer is immensely grateful to Curves (Eastbourne) for helping Valeria and Kelly attain physical fitness.”
